Top 5 model agencies in Birmingham that connect talent and brands

  • Accreditations and Agency Standards: We focused on Birmingham agencies registered with reputable industry bodies, such as the British Fashion Model Agents Association (BFMA). We also looked for those legally recognised with valid contracts.
  • Model Development and Support: We picked agencies that actively invest in their talent, offering portfolio building, runway coaching, and mentoring. These extras make a real difference, especially when you’re starting out.
  • Earnings Potential and Fair Rates: We prioritised agencies offering competitive daily rates (typically £100–£300) and transparent commission structures. We avoided agencies that take unusually high cuts or charge for representation.
  • Job Opportunities and Clientele: We reviewed each agency’s booking history. This includes campaigns, fashion weeks, and commercial work. We also identified those consistently securing work with recognised brands and productions.
  • Feedback and Professionalism: We read through model reviews and industry chatter to ensure these agencies are not only well-connected but also treat their models with fairness, respect, and prompt communication.

The city’s fashion and creative scene continues to grow, opening doors for fresh talent to explore new spaces. From commercial shoots to influencer campaigns, opportunities are everywhere.

A trusted model agency in Birmingham can help connect rising models with the right gigs—polishing portfolios, offering training, and landing bookings that matter. It’s a smart move for anyone serious about the industry.

If you’re ready to put yourself out there, the right agency can help you take that first confident step. And if you don’t know where to begin, check out our list.

How much do model agencies charge in Birmingham?

Founded in 2016 by Skye Round, this agency has consistently prioritised diversity.

As a matter of fact, their book is very inclusive. It represents men, women, non-binary individuals, juniors, and even family duos. They don’t care about height or follower count, and that’s incredibly great in a space that often leans superficial.

However, it’s worth flagging that Atlantis isn’t a high-fashion boutique agency. If you’re aiming for couture editorials or runway exclusives, this may not be the right fit. Their strength is clearly in commercial, influencer, and editorial work.

Nonetheless, we admire their community presence. Skye runs fashion photography workshops at Birmingham Colleges and regularly collaborates with local sponsors. This gives a community-first feel and makes us think they’re in it for more than just the bookings.

We also like their digital expansion through AtlantisOnline, their dedicated influencer and creator arm. Pair that with clients like Samsung, Puma, McDonald’s, and Zalando, and it’s easy to see why they’re getting so much attention.

Pros

  • Truly inclusive representation
  • Strong digital and influencer division
  • 9 years in the industry
  • Hands-on and community-driven director
  • Works with top-tier brands

Cons

  • Limited access to high-fashion/couture campaigns

Adds so much care to every individual

“An incredible agency and team that put so much care into every individual on their books. Not only do they offer outstanding commercial opportunities with established brands, but they also bring a level of care and intention I’ve yet to experience with any other agency.Whether it be through one-to-ones, progression workshops or even social events to stay connected–this agency cares about and champions their community.”

Incredibly professional and supportive

“I’ve had a fantastic experience working with Atlantis. From the start, they’ve been incredibly professional and supportive. They’ve consistently booked me for high-quality shoots and connected me with amazing photographers and brands. Their dedication to helping me grow as a model is evident, and I always feel supported. I highly recommend Atlantis to any model looking for a reliable and professional agency to represent them.”

Wilkins Casting Agency felt like one of the more fast-paced and hands-on agencies we looked into. Founded in 2017 and based at Brindley Place, it’s run by assistant directors and casting specialists, who really have a strong grasp of on-set demands.

They don’t charge anything up front. However, while the no-cost registration is great, remember that booking fees are £2.50 per gig. The deductions across your first four jobs for young performers can also quickly add up.

Regardless, they receive 50 to 100 applications daily, but only accept those who complete at least 80% of their profile and provide updated images. It’s nice to see an agency that values quality over quantity.

We also like their specialised divisions: one for adult artists and another for under-16 performers, each with its own onboarding process. They even previously offered a dedicated chaperone service to ensure child safety.

Another standout feature is how their background in casting direction informs their day-to-day decisions. Instead of simply filling a database, they actively match talent with current production needs, which keeps their artists consistently in demand.

Pros

  • Selective and high-quality talent pool
  • No upfront registration fees
  • Over 5 years in the industry
  • Divisions for young and adult performers

Cons

  • Admin and booking fees apply after the first job

Timely, enthusiastic, and easy to work with

“We used Wilkins Casting for a corporate photoshoot. We found the everyone to be very timely, enthusiastic, easy to work with, and happy to volunteer to help wherever they could. They were also very collaborative and professional. Several people also came prepared with a few different clothing options, which shows initiative. Thank you.”

Works within regulations

“We contacted Wilkins Casting Agency to find an actor for a social media advert. This was our first time casting a child and Davida and Erica were amazing. They guided us through everything we needed to do to make sure we were working within regulations and helped us find the perfect actor for our ad. Couldn’t recommend them more highly! Thank you :)”

Exhibition Models UK, also known as Vitesse Angels, is one of the longest-running promo modelling agencies. Since 2008, they have established a solid niche in the motorsport and exhibition sectors.

Their heritage in motorsport sets them apart. They’re a regular fixture at Autosport International, MotoGP, and BTCC. It’s clear they know their way around a pit lane, and we appreciate how organised their team is when handling big live events.

Another strength is that their models are carefully screened, auditioned, and prepared for client-specific needs. They also promote their talent across their social media channels before, during, and after events.

But their standards are very gendered and visually specific. They mostly hire women with a “polished” look and around 5′8″ to 5′10″ in height. If you’re male, non-binary, or outside these visual standards, this agency might not offer as many opportunities for you.

Still, what surprised us in a good way is their affordability despite the prestige. They offer rates from £120 to £160 per day, with seasonal discounts of up to 20% for Autosport events.

Pros

  • Trusted motorsport agency since 2008
  • Rigorous model screening and auditions
  • Promotes models across social media
  • Offers competitive rates with seasonal client discounts
  • Works with major UK venues

Cons

  • Height and gender-specific model criteria

Communication with head office is easy and organised

“You can always expect an excellent service from Grid Girls. We have used them for several of our boxing shows now and models always turn up on time, are easy to work with and really add something special to each show! Communication with head office is easy and organised with clear job description forms. Prices are very fair. We will continue to use them for all our shows in the future. Thanks Grid girls!”

Communication is super quick and very professional

“Fantastic service from Grid Girls. I have used them for several fight night shows and the girls have been fabulous. The communication from head office is always super quick and very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Grid Girls and will be using them for all future events”

AS Agency has a long-standing presence in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. It was established by Alan Sharman in 2007 and is now led by Natalie Bellamy.

However, as a micro agency with just two core staff, their tight-knit setup means fewer castings. You might find the pace slower here if you’re after fast-paced exposure or international fashion briefs.

Even so, we like how broad their scope is. They don’t just rep models—they’ve got families, juniors, older character faces, even hand and leg specialists, plus voice artists and background extras under one roof.

What makes them stand out is their accessibility. There are no upfront fees and no hidden charges in the portfolio.

Their website is also easy to navigate, with clear information on applying, getting started, and what kinds of work to expect.

Moreover, we’re also impressed with their local connections, particularly in TV, commercial, and corporate work.

Pros

  • Slower pace and fewer castingsOver 10 years of experience in the industry
  • Covers a wide talent range beyond just modelling
  • No entrance or portfolio fees
  • Strong casting and production industry ties
  • Easy-to-navigate website

Cons

  • Slower pace and fewer castings

Everything was organised perfectly in advance

“Everything was organised perfectly in advance, with Natalie responding very promptly on email in the run up. The shoot went incredibly, Natalie Waterson is such a professional presenter, she really made the day easy and performed exactly as needed to get through all our scripts, took direction and intelligently edited herself in real time, having understood the subject and read the scripts several times before the day. The studio was very impressed with her too, it was overall a really professional experience.”

Communication was great and concise

“I am very new to the modelling industry and have had a very warm welcome from Alan and his agency. I have found their communication great and the briefs/information about the shoots delivered in good time and concise. They have a very professional approach to the work they do and are a pleasure to work with all round.”

RMG Model Agency is one of the most structured and professionally run outfits in the Midlands. They represent over 800 talents across 15+ categories, including fitness, mums-to-be, and body-part specialists.

We genuinely appreciate how broad their network is—not just models, but creatives too. Photographers, hair and makeup artists, stylists, and even wardrobe assistants are part of their offering.

Applying is refreshingly low-pressure. There are no upfront or registration fees. All you need to submit is natural headshots and a full-body photo.

Their consultants, with 40 to 50 years of experience, will guide you through every stage of onboarding. They are also active in a scouting culture.

What’s worth flagging is that all models are contracted as self-employed, meaning you’ll need to handle your tax, wardrobe expenses, and travel costs. This setup is fairly standard in the industry, but still something to prepare for before signing on.

Pros

  • Over 800 diverse talents and creatives
  • 25 years of experience
  • Has consultants with 40-50 years of experience
  • No sign-up fees
  • Strong regional client base

Cons

  • Models are self-employed status

Has connections with some amazing clients

“RMG is fantastic! Jesica and Megan do a great job of organizing shoots, and have already connected me with some amazing clients and shoots just a few months into representation. Wonderful agency to be signed with!”

Very professional and hard working

“RMG Are a great agency, very professional and hard working. Very reliable and highly recommended.”
