Get your heart racing at the top 6 theme parks in Birmingham

I once planned a day at a theme park in Birmingham with my nephews, hoping that it would be easy, fun and stress-free. We kicked things off with a big ride, recovered on something gentler, and rushed to fries before anyone got hangry.

Amusingly, I learnt that plans can change depending on crowds, budgets, and weather.

So, if you’re like me and want a clear plan and no stress, read on for our curated list of theme parks. These are family-friendly picks, thrill spots and easy day trips within and near the city.

1. LEGOLAND Discovery Centre

Address: Arena, LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Utilita, King Edwards Rd, B1 2AA

Hours: Monday-Sunday: 9:30 AM – 4:30 PM

Pricing: ££

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is an all-weather, family-friendly attraction packed with unique LEGO-themed experiences.

One of its standout features is the UK’s only LEGO VR race, The Great LEGO Race VR, where guests hop into a 360° motion pod for a fully immersive ride. It’s suitable for ages 4 and above, but is only available as a paid add-on.

You’ll also find Miniland here. It’s a detailed miniature city built from over 1.5 million bricks. We love how it shows Birmingham landmarks, day-to-night light changes, and even interactive builds for visitors to join in.

Aside from its many play zones, it also offers two indoor rides that keep the fun going, regardless of the weather. Plus, there are themed spaces to explore and even a quieter “Little Play Times” during term-time weekdays.

Pro Tip:
If you live within day-trip distance, their Local Annual Pass is a huge value. Starting at just £30 for unlimited term-time weekday visits, plus 10% off cafe and shop purchases.

Cadbury World brings numerous ways to enjoy it. Their star is the new Cadbury Chocolate Quest. It’s an interactive laser gun ride that feels like a sweet twist on laser tag. It lets you collect virtual ingredients for the perfect bar, which is spread across 14 themed zones.

For families, you will love the 4D Chocolate Adventure. It’s an attraction where moving seats and special effects bring a cocoa journey to life. Plus, in their Have a Go Zone, you can try your hand at chocolate piping like a real chocolatier.

On the other hand, if you’re after outdoor fun, they have an African Adventure Play Area. It offers slides, rope bridges, and picnic spaces for a break between activities.

Most of all, if you’re like us and love a special treat, try their Character Afternoon Tea to enjoy sweet delights with Cadbury mascots. It begins with entry at 1:30 PM, followed by a wander through the chocolate zones before your magical tea service at 3:30 PM.

Pro Tip:
Grab a multi-attraction ticket to pair your Cadbury World with SEA LIFE or LEGOLAND Discovery Centre. You’ll save up to 35% and even have 90 days to use them.

Pricing: £

Packed with unique attractions for all ages, Inflata Nation is the ultimate indoor inflatable park in the city.

We tried their Inflata Wreck, a giant inflatable wrecking-ball challenge that is only available at this location. Alongside it is a massive ball pit complete with a climbable island and a “Ballcano” that bursts balls into the air. Yes, all of it is challenging, but it’s also fun.

The variety here is huge—climbing walls, hoop challenges, and more. For thrill-seekers, you can take on some of the tallest inflatable slides in the UK—reaching up to 11 metres.

Plus, they have the Obstaball Assault Course and Inflata Duel for those who love competition. It’s a perfect chance to race with friends or family; that’s why my nephews tried it. And gosh, even I enjoyed cheering for them!

Pro Tip:
If you’re booking for 10 or more people, it’s worth calling ahead to ask about the 15% group discount. It isn’t available online, and it can make larger outings more budget-friendly.

Adventure Island Mini Golf at Star City is one of Birmingham’s most exciting indoor themed attractions. It’s the first indoor adventure golf complex in England, designed as a jungle world with volcanoes, waterfalls, and Tiki villages.

We like how the courses are spread across two immersive 18-hole layouts, which makes it a treat for both kids and adults. The players here can choose between two unique 18-hole courses, the Hidden Cove Challenge and the Lost Hut Trail.

Additionally, each course presents its own unique challenges and detailed designs. Plus, one of the courses is fully disabled accessible, complete with lift access and DDA certification.

Pro Tip:
Drop by on a Monday night when the mini-golf league plays. It’s a bit quieter for casual players, and you might even pick up tips from some of the best local golfers.

5. Jungle Rumble

Website: https://birmingham.junglerumble.co.uk/

Address: Unit 21-22, Star City, Birmingham, B7 5SA

Contact: [email protected]

Pricing: ££

Jungle Rumble brings a burst of tropical fun. It offers a full golfing adventure experience, not just a simple round of mini golf.

What makes it even better is the laid-back vibe. You’ll often find music playing softly in the background while groups laugh over a round of mini golf.

Plus, their on-site bar keeps it fun with milkshakes for kids, mocktails for teens, and cocktails for adults. Additionally, you may want to try their Oreo milkshake or the mojito—they’re favourites among regulars.

And if you want the place to yourself, you can hire out entire courses for private bookings. It’s perfect for birthdays or team socials where you’re in charge of the pace and the vibe.

Pro Tip:
Visit on weekday evenings to catch their Golf & Drink deals. You’ll get a round of crazy golf plus a cocktail or beer for a great price.

The Fun Park is especially popular, designed for toddlers up to age 10. Their most popular attractions include the Spinning Coaster, Busy Bees, and the Mini Miami.

If you’re planning to visit with friends, you can challenge them to a game at the 36-hole Golden Putter Mini Golf or even explore more of the park on the Land Train. All of these rides are payable through the park’s convenient Fun Pass system.

Pro Tip:
Get a Fun Pass for just a £1 deposit. You can load credits to use on mini-golf, the land train, and more rides. You just need to top up in bundles to get bonus credits.
