But we weren’t just looking for any old patch; we wanted the whole experience, from hayrides to corn mazes, and maybe even a few adorable animals.

So, we set off to discover the best pumpkin patches around Birmingham that offered all the autumn magic. If you’re eager to embrace the season, these spots are definitely worth the trip.

Becketts Farm is a delightful little place. They’ve also been family-run for four generations.

They give it their all every year. They do a Pumpkin Extravaganza where Bella the Witch and the Pumpkin Queen help kids carve pumpkins. It’s surprisingly legit, and they even throw in little theatre bits to keep it fun.

Each kid receives a pumpkin, included in the £14.95 ticket. Along with that is a chance to shine in the trick or treat parade led by none other than Jack O’Lantern himself.

Other than that, they have a Farm Shop which is brimming with handmade pies, fruit crumbles, slow-cooker joints, and fresh local veggies.

2. Essington Farm

Essington Farm is a family-owned 600-acre working farm in the West Midlands, delighting visitors since 1892. We absolutely love how it keeps that charm alive today.

Their Pick-Your-Own Pumpkin experience is a must-do for the season, but be sure to book ahead of time. Tickets are just £2.50, and little ones under 3 get in free.

Just a heads up, though: pumpkins aren’t included in the entry fee. They start at just £2, and there’s a fantastic variety to choose from (big, small, bumpy, bright orange).

In addition to pumpkin picking, we love that there’s also a farm shop, butchery, and deli on site. Expect top-notch meats, homemade treats, and a variety of vegetarian-friendly options too.

3. Pumpkins R Us

Although it’s a 45-50 minute drive from Birmingham, Pumpkins R Us has still become a go-to autumn destination for Brummie families. Thanks to its massive pumpkin displays, themed photo spots, and that countryside charm.

Running from the start of October until the end, this family-owned pumpkin patch grows all its pumpkins right on their nearby Warwickshire farm. Whether you’re after big ones or even those quirky green and white pumpkins, they’ve got you covered.

Daytime entry is just £6.50 and kids under 4 get in for free. However, the real highlight is their after-dark pumpkin picking on select nights. It’s a spooky twist on a classic outing.

You can also look forward to a funfair, face painting, and a Halloween shop filled with spooky decorations. The on-site café is also serving hot drinks and tasty snacks.

4. Woods Farm

Like Pumpkins R Us, Woods Farm is just a 17-minute drive from Birmingham. But there’s something about it that keeps people coming back. We’re big fans of its cosy, countryside charm that wraps you up in all the best bits of autumn.

Whether you want to stroll through the reindeer enclosure or hang out in the covered barn, you’ll discover pumpkins of all shapes and sizes, with prices ranging from £2 to £20.

If you’re also thinking about carving your pumpkin right there, it’s an extra £5, but the rustic vibe makes it totally worth it.

On weekends and during half-term, you can warm up with hot drinks from Rustic Roast and indulge in sweet treats from the Doughnut Society. Plus, don’t forget to check out the on-site shop for Halloween and early Christmas decorations.

Forge Mill Farm is a family-friendly pumpkin patch just 7 miles outside Birmingham. This awesome spot opens its fields for a classic pumpkin-picking adventure every weekend in October.

The best part is that the cost is all wrapped up in the standard ticket. You only pay for the pumpkins you pick, whether you go for a perfectly round one or one of their impressive monster-sized varieties.

The farm is also home to some quirky bale friends and numerous autumn-themed photo opportunities, making it a fantastic choice for a seasonal outing. Plus, you can meet the animals, which adds a lovely, wholesome touch to your day.

Recently, they’ve introduced a new all-weather patch right by the entrance. It’s perfect if you forget your wellies or just want to keep your boots clean.
