The 5 best metal roofing companies in Birmingham that don’t miss a tile

  • Certifications and Standards: We focused on roofing companies that meet UK industry standards and hold recognised certifications. These include TrustMark or NFRC membership to ensure compliance, safety, and lasting quality.
  • Experience and Specialisation: We selected firms with strong track records in metal roofing, particularly those with experience in Birmingham’s climate and architecture. This includes residential and commercial properties.
  • Pricing and Transparency: We prioritised providers offering clear, upfront quotes and competitive rates without hidden fees so homeowners can plan confidently.
  • Material Quality and Options: We looked for companies that offer a range of high-quality materials, from galvanised steel to zinc and aluminium. We also considered options for style, durability, and eco-friendliness.
  • Customer Service and Responsiveness: We chose roofing specialists known for reliable communication, prompt service, and a hassle-free customer experience from the first enquiry to the final inspection.
  • Warranty and Aftercare: We considered those companies that provide solid warranties on materials and workmanship, as well as ongoing support for maintenance or future roofing needs.

Tired of patching up roof leaks every time it rains, like Birmingham’s trying to outdo a monsoon? Traditional roofs can only withstand so much pressure before they start to crumble.

That’s why more homeowners are switching to upgraded roofing. It’s tough, energy-efficient, and doesn’t flinch when the weather throws a fit.

Plus, it looks sleek without constantly needing repair attention. And when it comes to long-term peace of mind, metal roofing in Birmingham has you covered—figuratively and literally.

How much do metal roofing services cost in Birmingham?

Metal roofing services in Birmingham typically cost between £150 to £250 per day. However, factors such as the type of material used, the finish selected, and the complexity of the installation can also significantly impact the overall cost.

TR Roofing Sheets is a reliable go-to for cut-to-size roofing panels without spending a fortune. They offer both box-profile and tile-effect sheets, produced in-house using British steel, with sizing available from 1m to 7m.

We like their wide range of finish options: galvanised, polyester-coated, or plastic-coated—all in various colours. The 0.5mm and 0.7mm thicknesses cover most commercial needs, which gives buyers the flexibility to match budget and durability.

What’s worth pointing out, though, is that TR Roofing Sheets is strictly a supply-only business. They don’t offer installation, which might be a drawback if you hope for a full service under one roof.

On the bright side, their prices are remarkably low, with box profiles starting at around £2 per foot and standard sheets ranging from £20 to £55, excluding VAT.

Their reachability by phone and ability to cut to size on short notice make them a smart pick for DIYers and builders.

Additionally, their Birmingham-based yard at Brookvale Trading Estate ensures quick local delivery.

Pros

  • Offers cut-to-size British steel sheets
  • Variety of coatings and colours
  • Offers remarkably low prices
  • Offers local delivery
  • Quick turnaround time

Cons

  • Doesn’t offer installation services

Prompt and helpful

“I messaged the company via email in the evening and had prompt response within 10 minutes, when i had a chat with Gail she was very helpful in what I needed and the delivery was 7/10 days .. I was then given a date which was 5 days so I never had to wait for the estimated days.. I was desperate with what I ordered and never had to wait too long. I would definitely recommend this company for promptness and helpfulness”

Provides an excellent service and great value

“Very helpful, and excellent value, gave me a brilliant quote and adjusted it to my requirements, promissed delivery date and arrived on time and unloaded to where we wanted them. Have used this company twice now and they provide an excellent service, polite, prompt and great value. I would recommend them every time and will use them again. Phoenix Steels immediately stood out to us for their ability to fabricate custom-cut sheets up to 12m long, all made in-house. With over 40 years as a family-run manufacturer, they know the industry inside and out.

Their range is broad. It includes box profile, corrugated, tile-form, and GRP rooflights, all available in galvanised, polyester, or thick PVC‑plastisol coatings. Their colour palette offers over 14 standard shades, which is a huge plus if you’re after something more distinctive.

We were especially drawn to their “Moisture Barrier” anti-condensation membrane for storage roofs. Combined with GRP roof lights that deliver up to 80% light transmission, you can build something that’s both functional and energy-efficient.

There are a few things to flag, though: they don’t have an online shop, so everything has to go through email or phone. Also, they don’t offer installation services, meaning you’ll need to find your own roofer once you’ve sourced the materials.

But the turnaround is quick, even same-day in some cases. They stock everything from fixings to custom CNC-folded flashings, so it’s a one-stop shop if you’re confident handling the install side yourself.

Pros

  • Custom-made sheets up to 12m
  • Anti-condensation membrane + GRP roof lights
  • Over 14 colours and 3 types of coating
  • Fast nationwide delivery
  • Over 40 years in the industry

Cons

  • No online shop
  • Supply-only (installation not included)

Incredibly helpful and always quick to respond to enquiries

“Jordan was the person I was in email contact with at Phoenix Steels. He was incredibly helpful and always was quick to respond to my enquiries. Once I had placed our order at a very competitive price, a delivery date was arranged. The delivery driver was also very accommodating and managed to get his truck as close to the back of our property as possible, and we lifted the sheets off together. The quality and finish of sheets and accessory pieces was excellent, and as the sheets were cut to my stated measurements, everything went together like a simple jigsaw puzzle! Would most defiantly use these guys again.”

Fantastic, highly recommended!

“Fantastic! Highly recommend. I was introduced to Phoenix by a neighbour who had used them before and I’m so glad he did. I built my own garage to suit my requirements so the shapes and sizes weren’t standard, however the staff helped me with how I should go about it and what I needed to complete the job. They are all friendly and go the extra mile for you if you need help.

I highly recommend Phoenix Steels”

S. Tomic Roofing Ltd offers full-service roofing, combining supply and installation for homeowners who want a hands-off approach.

Based in Birmingham and founded in 2016, the business is led by Srdjan Tomic, who brings nearly two decades of hands-on roofing experience to every job.

While they do offer metal sheet roofing, their real bread and butter lie in flat systems, especially Sika Trocal PVC, GRP, and EPDM. So, if you’re set on custom metal cladding, their focus may be too specialised in the flat-roof direction for your needs.

Regardless, we appreciate their tailored site assessments, perfect for complex shapes like dormers or green roofs. They’re also certified Sika Trocal installers, and their membrane systems come backed by 15–25-year guarantees and 40+-year lifespans.

It’s impressive that they also handle various extras, such as fascia work, roof conversions, and dormer bays. We found their response times pretty snappy, especially when scheduling smaller domestic fixes.

Personally, we’re happy with their approach. It’s practical, informed, and clearly backed by experience.

Pros

  • Nearly 20 years of experience
  • Certified Sika Trocal PVC installer
  • Covers both domestic and industrial jobs
  • Offers a wide flat-roof materials range

Cons

  • Not focused on metal-pitched roofing systems

Professional, reliable, and trustworthy

“From the initial contact to completion of the job, we found this company professional , reliable and trustworthy. On the first meeting we were told exactly what was needed and was extremely knowledgeable of his trade. Ours was a complex job that other traders could not comprehend or instil confidence in us. We were kept fully informed at every stage of the process.  The team was hard working and punctual producing a clean and tidy result. Nothing was too difficult, even when I asked for something to be done differently, making the job more complicated, they went out of their way to appease me and create, a perfect finish. We have another job that requires their expertise and have no hesitation in ringing them and recommending them. If only all tradesmen were like this!! Life would be simpler!”

Professional throughout the working process

“Srdjan replaced the external tiles on the bay window with the new materials. Srdjan has been professional throughout from initial booking to give a quote to completion. He first came and explained to us on what materials would be involved in the new bay window and accommodate our request to have insulation board on too. The price is fairly reasonable. He took the falling tiles down gently but efficiently. He has his own scaffolding which makes everything looks professional. He set up the scaffolding quickly and progress to the work. It was a pleasure watching him to do the work as he is very experience in this sort of job and his attention to detail. Will definitely recommend him.”

Rhino Steel Cladding has been in business for over thirty years, and its reputation as a reliable Midlands-based supplier is well-earned.

They stock a massive selection, from box and tile-effect profiles to fibre cement, GRP roof lights, and flat panels—cut to size up to 8m. Their steel is CE-marked and sourced from reputable mills like Tata and ArcelorMittal, so the quality is high.

We appreciate the added extras you don’t always find in one place: anti-condensation coatings and insulated panels for year-round temperature control. They even offer PVC-coated fence panels, which are handy if you’re sprucing up more than just the roof.

One trade-off worth noting is that they require a minimum order of around 100 linear feet, which is roughly £200 or more, to qualify for delivery. If you’re only replacing a small shed roof, you’ll probably need to arrange collection yourself.

But here’s the good part: they bridge the gap between supplier and service offering, with optional installation through their in-house team. Their NFRC affiliation adds credibility, and it’s refreshing to get warm, helpful support from a company this size.

Pros

  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Offers a full install option and support
  • Anti-condensation and insulated panels
  • CE-marked steels from Tata Steel & ArcelorMittal
  • NFRC-affiliated in-house installation team

Cons

  • Delivery requires a minimum order

Quick turnaround

“Hi Guys ( Chris sales person ) Thank you for a quick turnaround on my order. And a massive thank you to Mark who made the delivery, who went the extra mile to get the large lorry to my location (rear of house). I did make a special journey to your office when placing the order, and stated that anything larger than a long wheel base transit might have difficulty with the drop off. It’s perhaps worth paying more attention to what a customer stipulates in the future.”

Offers a very competitive price

“Contacted Rhino, as looking to replace the old corrugated sheets on our workshop next year. The website is really easy to use, and browse to see all the products. I emailed the sales team, Peter contacted me back, offering me a very competitive price, better than the website, a win win transaction. Delivery was a dream, contacted the day before for a 7am delivery. The driver was waiting at my workshop @0630, and couldn’t have been more helpful, even when we had to handball 52 x 3m corrugated sheets. I will require more sheets when I complete this job, and will only be contacting Rhino, no one else. So all in all, if you want first class service, then look no further, than Rhino.”

Birmingham Flat Roofing have built a solid name in flat and low-pitch roofing solutions over the last two decades.

We were impressed by their use of standing seam metal and EPDM rubber systems. They are stylish and seriously weather-resistant.

One thing we especially liked was how their quotes often include membranes, insulation, edge detailing, and even optional upgrades like green roofing. The all-in approach is handy if you’re doing a full extension or want a clean finish without juggling trades.

However, one limitation is that everything needs to be booked or quoted manually. There’s no online pricing, which slows things down if you just want a ballpark figure. Not a dealbreaker, but it means a bit more back-and-forth before getting started.

The good thing is that the team is easy to deal with and often personally handles the projects. Their past installs, especially the GRP fibreglass ones, look sharp and feel built to last.

We’re actually happy with what they offer. The workmanship guarantees and smart-looking finishes definitely give them a trustworthy, boutique feel.

Pros

  • Specialises in low-pitch and flat roofing
  • EPDM, GRP, and standing seam systems
  • Quotes include full insulation and detailing
  • Direct contact and personal service
  • Over 25 years of experience

Cons

  • No online quoting or ordering system

High-quality and professional solution

“I’d like to thank Aaron for the excellent job that he made of our three flat roofs. The work was carried out meticulously, the guys quite obviously know their stuff and maintained good communication throughout. The fibreglass roofs look far better than the felt originals and have been finished to a high standard. If you want a high quality, professional solution to your leaky or ageing roof, I recommend Birmingham Flat Roofing without reservation.”

Hard-working and excellent attention to detail

“Cant fault Aaron and his team. Difficult to get a day with the U.K. weather not behaving but we managed it and Aaron came with his team as promised to compete our flat roof done with fibreglass. Really friendly team, great attitude, hard working, excellent attention to detail! Can’t fault them. Aaron is so caring and clearly cares about his work and the final finish which for us is perfect. Looks amazing.”
