When my three-year-old washing machine broke down, I was ready to replace it. But my mum told me to try a nearby repair shop first. To my surprise, they actually fixed it.
Since then, I’ve started looking for reliable appliance repair shops in Birmingham that can bring our gadgets back to life. It saves money and honestly feels like a small win every time something gets a second chance.

I was greatly surprised that they can repair most household appliances that tend to break easily, such as washing machines and refrigerators. Surprisingly, they also provide repairs for uncommon household appliances like pressure washers.
Booking a repair is easy. Once completed, it’s delivered to your house on the same day or the next day if not (very convenient!). Before they schedule a repair, they’ll provide on-phone advice to try and fix the problem, with no additional costs.
They also provide appliance rental, which is suitable for larger families or those who don’t want to deal with pesky appliance repairs. These include washing machines and tumble dryers.
Just watch out because their call-out fees are expensive at £53.

I was in desperate need of getting my vacuum repaired as my daughter suffers from eczema and her routine involves in keeping my house clean on daily basis from dusting to using the vacuum in her bedroom as she wakes up every morning with her skin flaking. Serving Birmingham, Solihull, and Sutton Coldfield, the Appliance Repair Man is a great service for those on a budget. In fact, most repairs cost below £100, and they also offer free quick fixes on the phone before they head to your house.
It’s also great that their repairs have fixed prices and that appliances can be repaired on the same day. Paul, the owner and one of their repairmen, told me that this was due to having a stockpile of different parts in stock at their locations.
Another thing that truly stood out to me was their no call-out charge policy that comes with free quotes, which saves a lot of money.
Some of the appliances that they can fix are dishwashers and even tumble dryers. The best part of this service is the 12-month written warranty for all repairs, which gave me great peace of mind.
However, it can be difficult to contact them, so be sure to leave a text message.

What I love about Domestic Heroes is their honest pricing. From the get-go, they present an accurate quotation that already includes the VAT and doesn’t come with hidden charges. The base prices for each repair can also be found on their website.
However, they only provide quotations during call-out visits, which can be a waste if they can’t fix the appliance.
Thankfully, a big upside to their services is that they cover all of Birmingham and some of the surrounding towns like Tamworth, Burton-on-Trent, and Wednesbury. It also doesn’t matter where you are because all repairs are usually done on the same day or the following day.
From freezers to ovens/cookers, they work on appliances in the kitchen and the washroom. They even have a dedicated specialist for the most stressful repair of all… the washing machine.
All repairs come with full public liability insurance. If your appliance can’t be fixed, I love that you can sell it to them.

Uniquely, I was impressed that they provide repairs for electrical hobs and ovens, which isn’t a common service.
Aside from these, they also work on washing machines, washer-dryers, and dishwashers, with spare parts available for all these appliances. I was pleased to know that they repair appliances from popular brands such as LG, Zanussi, and Bosch.
Best of all, their repairs come with a 1-year guarantee, which includes a free redo of any faulty repairs. They’re also an insured business, so if they break anything, it can easily be replaced.
However, their mobile phone lines can be faulty. I would suggest sending an email instead.

SD Appliance Repairs is an award-winning business for electrical repair in Solihull. Unlike other services, their repairs are available all week. Their engineers also have over 20 years of experience in repairing faulty appliances.
Working with popular brands such as Hotpoint and Candy, I prefer their repairs because their engineers have extensive experience with modern versions of appliances. These include appliances with touch screens and those connected to Wi-Fi.
As for which types of appliances they can repair, some of the more notable ones are refrigerators, as well as washing machines and tumble dryers. Additionally, they can also repair smaller appliances like toasters and microwaves.
I highly appreciated that the repairs were done on the same day I called and that their quotations matched the final bill accurately. Despite having a fairly new washing machine, they were able to get original parts from their local suppliers.
For appliances that are too far gone and can’t be repaired, they even offer to look for and install a replacement with minimal fees.
However, I found it difficult to contact them for after-repair check-ups for previously repaired appliances.
