The 5 best coworking spaces in Birmingham that dial work mode all the way up

  • Accessibility: You shouldn’t have to worry about your commute to work. We selected spaces that are conveniently close to public transportation, bike-friendly, and located in safe, central areas.
  • Facilities and Amenities: We focused on finding spaces equipped with fast Wi-Fi, comfy seating, and quiet nooks. These little details help you stay focused and feel good while working.
  • Flexible Plans: We chose spaces that let you work on your own terms, whether you need a desk for a day or a week.
  • Community: We went for coworking spaces that feel welcoming. The best ones feature friendly staff, engaging events, and fellow members you might actually want to connect with over coffee.
  • Real Reviews: We took the time to read genuine reviews and hear from current members. If people are happy, keep returning, and share positive feedback, that speaks volumes.

Working from home seemed like a dream at first, until the distractions started piling up and our motivation began to drop. We realised we needed a change of scenery, somewhere that wasn’t just our kitchen table or a bustling cafe.

That’s when we began our search for coworking spaces in Birmingham, hoping to discover places that sparked our creativity and felt less like a traditional office.

It turns out this city is home to some fantastic spots designed for remote workers like us. And in case you’re looking for one, here are some of the best coworking spaces that genuinely inspire you to get things done.

How much do coworking spaces charge in Birmingham?

Coworking spaces in Birmingham charge around £50 per day or £300 per month for one desk. However, the final price can vary based on the type of workspace, the duration of the rental agreement, and the amenities included.

Cubo is revolutionising the traditional serviced office scene to cater to the needs of today’s professionals. When we were searching for a flexible workspace in Birmingham, Cubo ticked all the boxes for us.

A friend had recommended it after trying out their day pass. This gives you access to hot-desking, reliable Wi-Fi, barista-made coffee until 3 PM, and even some beer and fizz from 2 PM to 4:30 PM.

We appreciate that the space features meeting rooms, private booths, cosy chill-out areas, and regular networking events. It’s great to know that these features help you feel less lonely while you work.

One thing to note: these shared resources aren’t always guaranteed to be available when you need them. When we dropped by on a Friday afternoon (which, to be fair, is probably peak time), there wasn’t any space ready for us.

On a more positive note, we were pleasantly surprised to learn that the space is dog-friendly. However, there are a few sensible rules: dogs must be house-trained and are only allowed in private offices. You’ll also need to bring along vaccination records.

Pros

  • Flexible workspace options
  • Dog-friendly space
  • Offers a day pass with hot-desking access
  • Offers free barista-made coffee
  • Top-notch amenities

Cons

  • Crowded at peak times

Excellent tour and clean coworking facilities

“Had a brilliant experience at Cubo Birmingham today. Amazing facilities, beautifully clean, and a brilliant tour given by Abby. Would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a co-working space in Birmingham city centre with a productive buzz along every corridor.”

Welcoming atmosphere and modern amenities

“I had a fantastic experience at this co-working space! Ryan, Kyle, and Shannon went above and beyond to ensure I was well taken care of. The modern amenities and welcoming atmosphere made it a breeze to stay productive. Plus, the central location is incredibly convenient. Highly recommend it!”

What’s best about WeWork is its one-of-a-kind amenities. We were particularly impressed by their business-class printing setup.

A client who needed to prepare last-minute pitch decks swore by the well-stocked printing nook, complete with office supplies and a shredder.

We also found their private phone booths to be perfect for taking uninterrupted calls or a quick breather, which was genuinely helpful during those busy workdays.

Apart from that, they offer flexible workspaces, ranging from fully furnished private offices to entire floors that you can customise with your own branding and IT setup. However, keep in mind that there are additional costs associated with growing teams.

But what’s great is that you can receive a professional business address with mail and package handling. To us, this is ideal for small teams seeking to maintain a polished image.

If you’re into hybrid work, their WeWork Workplace is a fantastic bonus as it merges physical space with their smart management software.

However, memberships can be a bit pricey, but the WeWork All-Access day pass is a great alternative.

Pros

  • Has a business-class printing setup
  • Well-stocked supply station
  • Flexible workspace options
  • Customisable private offices
  • Provides smart hybrid work management software

Cons

  • Memberships can be pricey

Top-notch facilities and a standout community team

“I’ve had an amazing experience at WeWork. The facilities are top-notch, always clean, modern, and well-maintained. It’s a perfect space for productivity, collaboration, and focus. A special shoutout to Alex and Emily, who truly make the place feel like home. They’re always welcoming, helpful, and go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly. Whether it’s assisting with workspace needs or just creating a friendly atmosphere, their dedication really stands out.”

No. 1 Birmingham coworking for views and vibe

“Used a fair amount of co-working spaces before including WeWork spaces in other countries and this Birmingham office is No.1. Both the people and the staff are super friendly and the facilities are always clean. I really enjoy coming here and working while I watch the city go by, thank you.”

Spacemade really knows how to deliver top-notch amenities, and this is clearly evident at 10X.

Although we haven’t personally tried out their Enterprise Suites, a friend of ours who manages a remote team of 25 has been singing their praises. The space offers ample room for both collaboration and relaxation, just what you need to boost your productivity and overall well-being.

Although the space is large, it can become overcrowded at times, as it remains open around the clock. If you want to avoid the crowds, try swinging in early mornings or late evenings.

On the plus side, we really appreciate that they go beyond just providing desks; they create hospitality-driven environments for real focus and connection.

For freelancers who need a place to drop in and get work done, the day pass option is great. You can opt for a working space at £45 per day or a private office pass at £45 per desk, offering super flexibility and a fairly priced option.

Pros

  • Hospitality-driven coworking design
  • Affordable day pass
  • Spacious enterprise suites for teams
  • Collaboration and wellness-friendly layout

Cons

  • Can get overcrowded during peak hours

Fun office socials and team space

“A lovely co-working space, modern and fresh interiors and well stocked kitchen space. The team and community socials are great, there’s always something fun going on in the office such as bake sales, quizzes, celebrations or breakfasts! We have worked in multiple co-working spaces in the city and this has been by far the favourite for the team.”

Perfect meeting space near the station

“Superb facility for business meetings or in our case a creative planning away day. Easy nearby parking and conveniently located close to Birmingham New Street station also. Wifi is good and the staff are excellent. Recommended.”

Spaces attracts forward thinkers, passionate entrepreneurs, and ambitious professionals who love to push boundaries and bring big ideas to life.

A friend recently booked a meeting there, so we took the opportunity to check it out ourselves. What really stood out to us was the access to the Business Club during business hours. It features designer open-plan lounge areas, an on-site café, and additional amenities.

Additionally, Spaces provides a flexible and lively atmosphere, free from the stress of long-term contracts.

We were also really impressed by the dedicated desk setup. Having your own desk, cupboard, locker, and 24/7 access, along with high-speed internet (of course), makes it feel like a second home.

Just a heads up though, there have been some reports of inconsistent cleaning, so that’s something to keep in mind.

On a brighter note, the small gesture of providing post-its was a thoughtful touch we genuinely appreciated.

The location is also a significant advantage, as it’s conveniently close to Snow Hill and New Street stations, as well as the Bullring. With 12 parking spots and meeting rooms available for just £29 per hour, it’s a practical option.

Pros

  • Offers access to the Business Club
  • Flexible workspace
  • Offers dedicated desks with 24/7 access
  • Close to major transport hubs

Cons

  • Report of inconsistent space cleaning

Exceptional community vibe and networking space

“We used Spaces for a short time whilst we required a central Birmingham office. It was fantastic using Spaces, the community managers were exceptional and created a fantastic vibe! The area was perfect for working, networking and taking clients too.”

Always provides a warm welcome and great community events

“I have used Spaces Crossway for co-working and have been impressed by the facilities on offer and the community feel, the breakfast event was a great surprise and I was able to sit and meet new members. The centre team, Mel and Thomas, always provide a warm welcome and deal with any queries professionally and promptly. I have already recommended using their business to colleagues.”

Coworking and event spaces that spark creativity and support big ideas—that’s the atmosphere you’ll experience at The Jointworks in Birmingham.

We were pleasantly surprised to discover such a diverse community under one roof, comprising graphic designers, animators, entrepreneurs, and more. The space is clearly designed to encourage collaboration.

We also love how flexible their membership options are. One of our freelance friends often picks up a £24 + VAT day pass when she’s in town. Meanwhile, others opt for the £100 per month plan, which allows for 5 or 10 days of use per month.

Aside from that, we love that they also offer a dedicated desk and storage for only £250 per month. Plus, with toilet and shower facilities, it’s easy to freshen up after a commute, and the secure lockers are a thoughtful addition for those on the move.

However, some have mentioned that customer responses can be a bit slow, so make sure to follow up on them.

Pros

  • Diverse creative community
  • Flexible membership options
  • Affordable day pass and monthly plans
  • Shower and locker facilities are available

Cons

  • Report of slow customer response time

Creative coworking where real connections happen

“The team at Method absolutely loves Jointworks! It’s a fantastic, friendly cooperative workspace where creativity thrives. We’ve not only found a great place to work but have also made meaningful connections and landed new opportunities. The community is welcoming, supportive, and truly inspiring. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a collaborative and creative environment!”

Warm, light space with great coffee and people

“I love working from here. It’s a light, warm and welcoming space with great coffee from Birmingham’s own Quarter Horse. There is also a great community of friendly co-workers, small businesses and creatives working from here, who I’ve really enjoyed getting to know over the past couple of years.”
